Great Barrington Public Theater Plans Benefit for Berkshire Voices

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Great Barrington Public Theater (GBPT) plans June 7 festive evening under the stars to benefit Berkshire Voices, and give a sneak-peek preview of Night at the Speakeasy cabaret starring Janelle Farias Sando, premiering this summer in the McConnell Theater.   Great Barrington Public partners with Berkshire Voices playwrights' group to incubate, develop and bring new plays to stage. SHEFFIELD, Mass. — Mount Everett Regional School announces that Allison Steuernagle has been named valedictorian, and Emily Steuernagle has been named salutatorian of the class of 2024.   Allison Steuernagle has completed a rigorous course of study during her years at Mount Everett which includes three AP courses, 10 honors courses, and four early college courses. Nearly 100 Compete in Berkshire Pride 5K

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Jay Santangelo of Lenox was the top nonbinary runner at the Berkshire Pride 5K on Sunday.   Santangelo covered the 5-kilometer course in 27 minutes, 14.53 seconds to place 16th overall among 94 finishers.   Pittsfield's Cam LaFerriere was the overall winner in 22.45.72, a 7:19 mile pace.   LaFerriere finished 24 seconds ahead of Canaan, N.Y.'s, Thomas Salaatte in second place (23:09.52).   The top woman in the field was Williamstown's Maya Filson, who placed seventh overall with a time of 24:09.06.   Full results are available on the Berkshire Running Center's website.

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Ariel "Ari" Caine and Madeleine Rocheleau-Holmes have been named valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, of Monument Mountain Regional High School class of 2024.   Both will speak at graduation ceremonies being held on Sunday, June 2, at 1:30 p.m. at Tanglewood in Lenox.    Caine is the child of Hanan and Rebecca Caine of Richmond. LENOX, Mass. — The graduates in Lee High School's class of 2024 were encouraged to move forward with optimism and curiosity.

Fifty-seven seniors received diplomas on Saturday at Tanglewood. Valedictorian Allen Ni and salutatorian Kira Johnson have high hopes for their peers in college and beyond.

Mount Everett Class Touted as 'Little Engines That Could'

LENOX, Mass. — Mount Everett Regional School graduates were touted as the "little engines that could" in a world riddled with conflict.

Thirty students crossed the Tanglewood stage Saturday morning under sunny skies. School Committee Chair Bonnie Silvers explained that when writing her address to the class, she turned to the American folktale "The Little Engine That Could."

Berkshire Waldorf High School Secures $4M Donation

STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — Berkshire Waldorf High School announced that it has received $4 million from an anonymous donor toward renovation of Procter Hall, the Old Town Hall at 6 Main Street.   The school has completed the architectural phase of the project design and construction is now underway. Pamela Sandler, AIA, is the lead architect on the project, and Marois Construction is on-site doing the actual renovation. Bidwell House: Exploring the History of New England Redware

MONTEREY, Mass.  Justin Thomas will speak about the museum's red earthenware collection.

These objects will be used to tell stories about red earthenware (and some stoneware) production all over New England, spanning the seventeenth through the early twentieth century. The notion of wares made by the rural country potter during the post-American Revolution period through about 1870 will be also discussed in comparison to the urbanized industries that existed in New England before and after the Revolutionary War.
