Nutritionist Michelle Sisk Joins CHP

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Community Health Programs (CHP) Berkshires welcomes to its nutrition team Michelle R. Sisk, RDN, LDN, CDN.     In her new role, Sisk will work primarily as a culinary nutritionist with the CHP Nutrition Club, which provides nutrition services to patients of Berkshire Fallon Health Collaborative (MassHealth). She will counsel patients mainly through telehealth, and will also lead culinary nutrition and education programs.     A graduate of Marymount College of Fordham University, Sisk holds a bachelor of science degree in nutrition, and she completed her dietetic internship at the University of Connecticut and Hartford Hospital.

Legislature Recommends Great Barrington Native for Postal Honor

BOSTON  — The Legislature on Monday adopted a resolution recommending that Dr. May Edward Chinn, a native of Great Barrington, be honored by the U.S. Postal Service through its Black Heritage Stamp Series.    The joint resolution of the state House and Senate recognizes the pioneering contributions of Chinn in the field of medicine in celebration of Black History Month. The resolution was jointly presented by state Sens. Paul Mark of Peru and Liz Miranda of Roxbury and state Rep. William "Smitty" Pignatelli of Lenox.    Her biography posted on the National Institutes for Health page states Chinn was born in Great Barrington on April 15, 1895, to

Lee Pavement and Bridge Repair Operations

The Hoosac Valley and Wahconah girls basketball teams each came away with victories in all-Berkshire Couty finals on Western Mass tournament Championship Saturday

The day ended with the Drury boys giving Berkshire County a third championship on the day.

Hanna Shea scored 20 points Saturday to lead the Hurricanes to a 71-56 win over Lenox in the Class D final at Holyoke High School.    Down the road at Westfield High, Grace Wigington scored 23 to lead Wahconah past Pittsfield High, 61-49 in Class B.    The Taconic boys dropped their Class B final to Springfield International Charter, 57-51, despite 18 points from Tayvon Sandifer.    In the Class C hockey final,

Zoom Option for GB Berkshire Aviation Special Permit Hearing

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Due to a capacity limit of 84 people in the Selectboard meeting room, the town is urging interested participants to make use of Zoom during Monday's special permit hearing related to Berkshire Aviation Enterprises.   The meeting is Feb. 27.
