 GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Bard College at Simon's Rock's Theater Program will perform "RIOT" on Thursday, Nov. 10 through Saturday, Nov. 12. "RIOT" is directed by Assistant Professor of Theater and alumna Sara Katzoff '97. According to a press release, originally created and devised by the Wardrobe Ensemble from Bristol (United Kingdom), "RIOT" is a tale of violence, greed and cheap sofas. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Berkshire Regional Transit Authority (BRTA) announced that beginning Nov. 25 through Dec. 31, 2022, all BRTA bus and paratransit services will be free through the state's "Try Transit" initiative. This Try Transit initiative is supported through the state budget and awarded by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. The state grant was awarded to all 15 Commonwealth regional transit authorities who worked together to submit a joint application and implementation plan.  LANESBOROUGH, Mass. – Fin Bailey and Alexandra Lawson were the top finishers on Sunday at the Mount Greylock Hill Climb. The rollerski race was conducted at Mount Greylock Reservation under the auspices of the New England Nordic Ski Association. More than 100 athletes took on the challenge of racing to the top of the commonwealth’s highest peak. Bailey and Lawson were the first finishers in the long course division for men and women respectively. The long course ran for 8 miles from the visitor’s center to the top of the 3,500 foot mountain. STOW, Mass. —With the end of daylight savings time coming on Nov. 6, Massachusetts fire officials issued a seasonal reminder to check your smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms and change the batteries when you change your clocks. GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The Selectboard will meet Monday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. with the Great Barrington Fire District to discuss a potential merger with the Housatonic Water Works (HWW) system. The town has been exploring possible solutions to HWW water quality issues, and one includes a merger of the Great Barrington Fire District with HWW system. HWW serves more than 800 customers in Housatonic Village and some neighboring areas. The Fire District serves about 1,700 properties in other parts of town.
