 Tanglewood commences its classical concert season this week with BSO Music Director Andris Nelsons at center stage in the Shed for three spectacular orchestral programs: the brilliant pianist Daniil Trifonov is featured in Prokofiev's monumental Third Piano Concerto on July 7, and violinist Hilary Hahn will perform Brahms' supremely lyrical Violin Concerto with the BSO on Sunday afternoon, July 9. Maestro Nelsons will also conduct the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra in its first concert the next evening in a program of masterworks by Debussy, Ravel and Stravinsky.  RICHMOND, Mass. — The Richmond Free Public Library will host a live animal presentation by Animal Adventures for children and adults on Saturday, July 8 at 11:00 a.m. Animal Adventures will bring 8 -10 exotic animals and present them in an hour-long session where the audience will get to pet the animals. The animals may include an alligator, snake, chinchilla, ferret, hedgehog, rat, bunnies and different kinds of reptiles, lizards and amphibians. LEE, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced that crews will be conducting overnight and daytime hour paving operations, bridge, and guardrail repair work on I-90 eastbound and westbound in Lee and Becket. The scheduled work will require some lane and shoulder closures on July 5, July 6, and July 7: Lee/Becket Pavement operations will be conducted nightly on I-90 eastbound from mile marker 14 to mile marker 20, from Wednesday, July 5, to Friday, July 7, during overnight hours from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning.  SANDISFIELD, Mass. — The Sandisfield Arts Center announced the 2nd annual Daniel Manacher Prize for Young Artists with an extended entry deadline on July 8. Three winners will receive $350 in support of their art practice, as well as a group show of their work at the Sandisfield Arts Center on August 19, 2023. The prize was created by Adam Manacher and Carol Birnbaum, the parents of Daniel Manacher, in memory of their son and his passion for art.  PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- After Saturday's rain forced a postponement, the Striking Out in the Berkshires Jimmy Fund fund-raiser will try again on Saturday, July 1 at Clapp Park. Players of any ability are welcome to participate in a charity baseball and softball games. So are players with no ability at all.
