MassDOT Advisory in Lee, Becket

LEE, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) crews will be conducting bridge and guardrail repair work on I-90 eastbound and westbound in Lee, Montgomery, Russell, Becket and Blandford during the week of April 30.    The scheduled work will require some lane and shoulder closures, and is scheduled to take place as follows:   Lee   Bridge repair operations will be conducted on I-90 eastbound and westbound at mile marker 8.3 on Monday, May 1, and Tuesday, May 2, in overnight hours from 7:00 p.m. to the next day at 5:00 a.m. Work is anticipated to conclude by 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3.   Montgomery/Russell Bridge repair work will

Governor Names Western Mass Director and Deputy Director

Berkshire Agriculture Ventures Awarded USDA Grant

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Berkshire Agriculture Ventures (BAV) has been awarded a $630,000 grant from the United States Department of Agriculture through its Rural Development Meat and Poultry Intermediary Lending Program (MPILP).    Together with an additional $210,000 match from community members, BAV will use this grant to establish a dedicated, $840,000 fund that will enable BAV to issue loans to meat processors within the Berkshire-Taconic foodshed, over the next three years. As these loans are repaid, they will be invested into a permanent funding mechanism that will significantly enhance BAV's ability to support any kind of local food processing, distribution, and

CHP Mobile Health Second Booster Now Offered

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Mobile Health now offers a second Covid-19 booster for adults 65 and older, and for others of any age with compromised immune systems.   Community Health Programs (CHP) will provide these CDC-approved senior boosters at least four months after the first booster was received. Most people with weakened immunity can receive this booster within two months of a prior booster.    Berkshire area residents may visit chpberkshires.org/mobile or call (413) 528-0457 for information and CHP Mobile Health locations. Great Barrington Announces Road Work Projects

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — The town has announced Phase 1 of this year's street improvement projects throughout town.   Street paving and other work will take place at the following locations: Commonwealth Avenue Locust Street Giddings Street Ramsey Avenue Meadow Lane (GB) Stillwell Avenue Cooper Road The low bidder for these jobs was Williams Paving from West Stockbridge, with a price of $592,768.80   Construction gets underway around May 15, weather permitting.   Work includes reclaiming the existing pavement, reshaping and compacting the road with rollers then placing a binder and top pavement. There will also be minor drainage work involved.

Intersection Conflict Warning System Installed at Monument Mountain Regional High School
