Barbara Albuquerque, 92

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Barbara Albuquerque, 92, of 53 Edward Avenue, Pittsfield, died Monday, December 4, 2017, at her home surrounded by family.



Born in Pittsfield on June 30, 1925, the daughter of Paul and Augusta Pinta Cunha, her family returned to their homeland of Portugal where she was educated.  Returning to Pittsfield, Mrs. Albuquerque was a homemaker. She, at one time, worked at the Elmvale Worsted Mill and the Stratton Coat Factory.



Mrs. Albuquerque was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed cooking and gardening; and spending precious time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.



Her husband, Anthony Albuquerque, whom she married June 22, 1946, died March 18, 1988.



Mrs. Albuquerque is survived by a daughter, Diana Mancivalano of Pittsfield; a son, Edward Albuquerque and his wife Debra of Pittsfield; three grandchildren, Jason Mancivalano and his wife Katie, Edward Albuquerque Jr. and his wife Cara, and Jennifer Albuquerque; and seven great-grandchildren, Anthony Albuquerque, Timothy Mancivalano, Molly Mancivalano, Mark Mancivalano, Sara Mancivalano, Ryan Albuquerque, and Alana Albuquerque. She also leaves a nephew, David Silva and his wife Cheryl; a niece, Irene Press; great nephew Ryan Silva; and three great nieces, Rebecca Cohen, Elizabeth Press and Christina Silva. 



Funeral notice: Funeral services for Barbara Albuquerque will be held Monday, December 11, 2017, at 9:15 a.m. from Dery Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church celebrated by Rev. Peter M. Naranjo II. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. 



Calling hours will be Sunday, December 10, 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires or to the March of Dimes both in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
