Jason R. Blake, 42

March 13, 2020

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Jason Robert Blake (Blake Boy), 42, of Pittsfield, Mass., passed away unexpectedly on March 13, 2020, at Fairview Hospital.

He was born in Pittsfield on November 3, 1977, to Robert and Hope DeForest Blake. A graduate of Wahconah Regional High School, Jason married the former Gina Procopio on December 31, 2002.

He worked as a supervisor at Hillcrest Educational for seven years. He was close with his Hillcrest colleagues and was proud of his shift, working well together.

Jason was a devoted father, brother, son and friend. He made time for everyone who he loved.

Jason loved animals and called himself the cat whisperer. You could often find him snuggling one of his pets. He was silly and kind and funny. He loved his little girls and was a dedicated father. He was always taking them shopping and sneaking them treats. He already has Easter presents hidden for them. He will be deeply missed.

Jason loved Magic: The Gathering cards and iced coffee. Jason was an excellent bowler with several 300 games. He was very connected to his bowling community.

Jason loved his family and was very close with his sisters. He made a point to see them every week. Jason and his wife were best friends who loved each other truly.

Jason was a great man with a beautiful soul. He loved rap music and was a terrible singer. He leaves a hole in our hearts, until we meet again.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Gina Blake; his children, Taylor and Paige; his brother Kevin; sisters June, Joyce, and Kayla; his mother, Hope, and father, Robert; two nieces; and three nephews.

Funeral notice: Funeral services will be held at a later date. Please continue to check our website for updates. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Hillcrest Educational or 18 Degrees, Formerly Berkshire Children and Families, in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
