LENOX, Mass. — Norvan Oakley Drugmand, 92, of Lenox, passed away peacefully on Dec. 22, 2020, at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center.
Born in Imperial, Pa., May 27, 1928, the son of Roland and Julia George Drugmand, he attended local schools and worked in the family’s general store.
Mr. Drugmand served in the Army during the Korean War. He graduated from Geneva College and met his wife
Joan on a blind date during college.
A longtime resident of Harrington Park, N.J., Mr. Drugmand was a printer and engraver and owned his own business in New York City. He was active in the Community Church of Harrington Park for many years and he and his wife raised their family in
Bergen County.
Mr. Drugmand enjoyed skiing, ballroom dancing, and golfing. He skied internationally and in the U.S. with favorite spots including Alta, Utah and Jay Peak, Vermont.
Norvan O. Drugmand was predeceased by his wife, Joan Young Drugmand (1994) and baby son Bruce Drugmand (1953).
He is survived by son David Drugmand and his wife Tricia of Washington, and daughters Ellen McCoy and her husband Rich of Catonsville, Md. and Jane Kearney and her husband John of Long Valley, N.J., as well as six grandchildren – Dana Drugmand,
Jamie McCoy, Kendall McCoy, Clay McCoy, Jack Kearney, and Jim Kearney.
A graveside service for Mr. Norvan O. Drugmand will be held on Dec. 30, 2020, at 1 pm at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill, NY. with the Rev. Steve Sayer of Community Church, Harrington Park, NJ officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Drugmand’s memory may be made to the Community Church in Harrington Park, In care of the ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.
