Anthony J. Rinaldi Sr., 96

January 23, 2021

PITTSFIELD, Mass. —  Anthony James Rinaldi, Sr., 96 of Pittsfield, MA passed away peacefully on Saturday January 23, 2021 at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington.



He was born in North Adams, MA on May 17, 1924 the son of Adriano and Francesca (Pieri) Rinaldi. He attended North Adams Schools and graduated from Drury High School where he was a star basketball player.



Anthony was a veteran of WWII and served in the US Navy. He was last employed as the Vice President of Operations at Dynamics Control Corp. in East Hartford, CT until his retirement in 1989. Prior to that, he worked for General Electric Company in the Ordinance Division in Pittsfield, Lynn, and Binghamton, NY for over 30 years.



Survivors include his wife, Beverly M. (Goodrich) Rinaldi whom he married on July 23, 1967; and one daughter, Barbara Ann (Daniel) Czerwinski of Cheshire, and two sons- Anthony J. (Wendy) Rinaldi Jr. of Richmond, MA and Christopher J. (Barbara) Rinaldi of Adams and his daughter in law, Mary Rinaldi of Pittsfield. He also leaves two stepchildren, Lynne Ramer of Farmington, CT and David Ramer of Fairfield, CT; 11 grandchildren and a great grandchild and nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Anthony was predeceased by his son, A. Michael Rinaldi who died on December 1, 2016 and five sisters including, Anna Rinaldi, Lucy Rinaldi, Cecilia Dupuis, Laura Doran Carmel, and Frances Bissaillon.



FUNERAL NOTICE: A celebration of life for Anthony Rinaldi Sr. will take place over the summer in East Hartford, CT. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Fairview Hospital, in care of the FLYNN & DAGNOLI –BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St. Pittsfield, MA 01201. we're all absolutely heart broken at the news of tony's passing. so many amazing, wonderful memories are flooding back of 53 years worth of friendship and being family <3 one of the last things tony said to me (while looking at me straight in the eye) was..."i'll see you again. i promise you" and i believe that.
