Michael Sarkis Jr, 69

August 10, 2021

PITTSFIELD, Mass. —  Michael Patrick Sarkis Jr., 69 of Pittsfield, MA died on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by his family and their priest. He was born in North Adams, MA on June 22, 1952 a son of Michael Patrick Sarkis and Genevieve Ann (Morin) Sarkis. He attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School. Michael received his bachelor’s degree in business from the former North Adams State College.

   Michael was last employed as the Director of the Health Department for the City of North Adams. Prior to that, he worked for many years at Pfizer/Specialty Minerals in Adams as a manager of shipping.

   In past years, Michael enjoyed playing golf on Sundays. He loved hosting pool parties and holiday gatherings at his home on Williams Street in North Adams for family and friends. He loved solid gold oldies music, vacations to Aruba, Disney World, and gardening with his neighbors.

   Michael’s greatest joy was becoming a Jido and being with his two grandchildren every single day. He was a skilled craftsman making dollhouses for his granddaughter and forts for his grandson. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and good friend to anyone who was fortunate to know him. Survivors include his wife, Anne Marie (Clermont) Sarkis whom he married on June 9, 1973 and one daughter Michelle S. Colvin and her husband Darrell of Pittsfield. He also leaves two grandchildren, Lillian Anne Colvin and Branden Michael Colvin as well as two nieces, Tracy Sarkis Bassette and Misty Sarkis. He was predeceased by a son, Michael Edward Sarkis who died on December 25, 1996 and a brother, Steven Sarkis.



FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Michael Sarkis Jr. will be on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 10:30 AM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS- WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be on Saturday from 9:00-10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Berkshire VNA or Hospice Care of the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
