DALTON, Mass. — Jody Lynn Brigley, 60, of Hemlock Hill, passed away June 7, 2022, at Berkshire Medical Center, surrounded by her loved ones, after a valiant six-year battle with breast cancer.
Jody was born on Sept. 14, 1961, in Northampton, where she was raised and educated. She had previously worked as a chef at Kelly's Diner where she developed many friendships. She enjoyed horseback riding, gardening, was a prolific reader and avid fan of the 49ers. Jody also had a special talent of remembering everyone's birthday by heart.
Jody was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Brigley, son Dalton Brigley and daughter, Vanassa Brigley. She is survived by her mother, Janet Mathison, and stepfather, George Still, of Chesterfield; beloved son Morgan Mathison (Tiffany) of Pittsfield; a sister, Terry Crowther (Gilbert) of Goshen; a brother, Andrew Mathison of Georgia; brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, cousins, grandchildren, and many close friends.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be Wednesday, June 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main Street, Dalton, MA 01226. Celebration of Life service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the BMC Cancer Center in care of the funeral home.
