Alex Brett-Lucaroni

March 19, 2024

PITTSFIELD, Mass. —

It is with great sadness that the family of Alex "Al" M. Brett-Lucaroni announces his unexpected passing on March 19, 2024 at his Pittsfield home.

Alex was born on September 25, 1990, the son of Angela M. Brett-Lucaroni and Michael E. Lucaroni.

Al graduated from Taconic High School, metal fabrication class of 2009. An accomplished athlete, he played varsity basketball. It was exciting to watch him on the court, using his natural speed to steal the ball and shoot to score or assist in scoring. He also enthusiastically enjoyed varsity baseball and continued to play on community teams after graduation.

Alex's grandfather, Poppy Peter Brett, was one of his greatest fans at all school games alongside his parents, Angela and Mike.

Al was a lifelong Red Sox and Celtics fan, and enjoyed music, art, gaming, family get togethers, and especially loved family trips to Cape Cod.

Alex loved being an uncle and cherished the time he spent with his nephew Jeremiah.

He had an outgoing and sunny disposition, a great sense of humor and an easy, friendly smile. Alex was always ready to help, lending to his many friendships, both in school and beyond. Alex worked for many years as an administrative property manager at South Pond Farm condominiums. He later serviced individual property owners with their maintenance needs. After his grandfather passed, Alex was his grandmother's (Gram Flo Brett) go-to guy for all kinds of yard and home repairs and upkeep.

In addition to his parents, Alex survived by his beloved sisters, Alayna and Alicia Brett-Lucaroni, his maternal grandmother, Florence Brett, and many aunts, uncles and cousins, all who miss and love him.

Alex never gave up on his hopes and dreams of what was yet to come. His parents, sisters, grandmother, and aunt Allison were particularly supportive of Alex's aspirations.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made online directly to Spectrum Health Systems Inc. or by mail to Spectrum Health Systems Inc. 10 Mechanic St. Suite 302 Worcester, MA 01608.

A celebration of both Alex's life and his mother Angela's life will be Monday, August 19, 2024 from 12 to 3 PM at the Italian American Club, Newell Street in Pittsfield.

Dear Brett and Lucaroni families,
I was so sorry to learn that Alex had passed. I remember meeting him when he was a cute little boy. Several years ago, while in town I went to The Eastside Cafe and noticed Alex sitting nearby. I recognized him from the photos Angela shared on Facebook. I told Alex that I had introduced his parents. He smiled and was so nice. May you be comforted by memories of happy times and the love you shared. And May God grant Alex eternal peace.
With deepest sympathy,
Mary Ellen Manning
