Diana R. Morton, 80

October 29, 2024

PITTSFIELD, Mass. —

Diana R. Morton, 80, of Pittsfield, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Springside Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center. Born in Pittsfield on May 22, 1944, the daughter of Rose (Sires) Brown and Clayton Brown, she was a 1962 graduate of Lee High School.

Diana worked as a respiratory therapist at the former St. Luke’s Hospital in Pittsfield, where she met the love of her life, Ronald Morton. They were married on September 5, 1964, and moved to their home in Pittsfield where they spent many happy years together. When Ron’s health declined, he became a resident of Springside Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center where Diana made it a priority to visit him every single day, for 9 years, until his passing on March 20, 2017.

Diana was a caring and loving person who made a friend with everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A long-time parishioner of St. Charles Parish in Pittsfield, she helped to train new altar servers and also assisted couples who were preparing for their wedding at St. Charles. She had a great love for her family and planned many special events where everyone could get together. She would make sure she took photographs of every person so that she could add them to her many photo albums.

Diana and Ron loved to travel and went on many cruises and visited Alaska, Hawaii, Ireland, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and Nova Scotia. Their love of travel also took them on more than 50 Dufour Tours.

Diana is survived by her sister, Patricia Bailey (Carl), her brother, David Brown (Carole), her niece, Melissa Incampo (Anthony), and her grandnephew, Anthony David Incampo. She leaves behind her sister-in-law, Edith Morton, as well as her niece, Debbie Forsaith and niece and caretaker for the past several years, Donna Dyer. Diana is also survived by many dear friends, including the amazing staff at Springside, all of whom she considered family.

Besides her husband, Ronald A. Morton, Diana was predeceased by her nephew, Robert Bailey.
