LENOX, Mass. — Shakespeare & Company has added six new members to the company's board of trustees.
The new members joining the board are Sandra Bourgeois, George Camarda, Phoebe L. Giddon, Beverly Hyman, Maureen O'Hanlon, and Scott Rubinow.
"I'm thrilled we have added so many talented and dedicated individuals to the board this year," said board Chair Ken Werner. "It's a tribute to the leadership of Artistic Director Allyn Burrows and Managing Director Adam Davis that we've been able to attract Trustees who will add so much to the company."
Three of the newly appointed trustees were introduced to the company through their volunteer work. Bourgeois served as the company's volunteer chair and provided leadership in the company's Oral History and Archive Project. O’Hanlon is currently the Co-Chair of Shakespeare & Volunteer Company. Rubinow also volunteered with the Oral History and Archive Project. Camarda and Hyman are both new to the company, and Giddon returns to the board after serving from 1996 to 2015.

Bourgeois graduated from Vassar College and has a master’s degree in African Studies from UCLA. After teaching high school social studies in New York for six years, she switched careers and worked in IT for 30 years as a programmer, project manager, and testing specialist. She worked at Aetna and MassMutual and retired in 2011.
Camarda has been a script supervisor for the past 20 years on TV productions, including “Law & Order,” “The West Wing,” “Boardwalk Empire” and most recently “Bull.” His film credits include “Boys Don’t Cry,” among others. He has been a member of IATSE Local 161 since 1993 and was previously a locations manager for a number of films, television commercials, and music videos. He is a graduate of Emerson College with a BFA in theater directing.
Giddon is a graduate of Brandeis University and has served as a member of the university’s Board of Women and Gender Studies, a feminist organization made up of female students and professors. She and her husband, Dr. Donald Giddon, created the Women and Health Initiative in the Women’s Studies Program at Brandeis, and have sponsored WGS' popular "Sexuality in Healthcare" course. Giddon also served as a volunteer with the Massachusetts Association for the Blind. Giddon owns the travel company Travel Consultants International in Wellesley, Mass., and is the co-owner of the Rothman’s in New York with her sons.
Hyman is President of Beverly Hyman, Ph.D. and Associates, an international organizational development and training firm in business over 25 years. With offices in New York City, she and her associates provide consulting on leadership and organizational development, executive coaching, strategic planning, communications training of all types, team building and facilitation. Hyman is a long-time resident of the Berkshires with a historic home in Otis. She and her husband reside full time in Greenwich Village in New York City. She is the author of three books, most recently “How to Know If It’s Time to Go,” which she co-authored with her husband.
O'Hanlon is a 25-year veteran of the travel and hospitality. She joined the Prism Partnership as a partner in 2004 and leads the firm’s marketing and sales practice. Prior to joining the Prism Partnership, O’Hanlon served with Prime Hospitality and Carlson Companies. O’Hanlon has been recognized as one of the "25 most influential industry executives" by Tour & Travel News and was a recipient of the ATLAS Award for Marketing bestowed by the Association of Travel Marketing Executives.
Prior to his move to the Berkshires, Rubinow worked as a math teacher at the Miller School and the Field School in Charlottesville, Va. Rubinow has also worked in various leadership positions with AIG; UBS; JP Morgan; and Morgan Stanley. Rubinow holds a masters degree from Teachers College at Columbia University, as well as a masters in business from Columbia University Graduate School of Business. His undergraduate degree was from Tufts University in mathematics.
