GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Berkshire Community College's spring slate of workshops continue at its South County Center on Main Street in Great Barrington with classes tailored to the needs of small businesses and nonprofits.

Michael Cohen, marketing consultant, is offering a new workshop, "Human Marketing in the Digital Age," on Thursdays from March 1 to April 5 from 1 to 3 p.m. New technologies have given consumers a platform for publishing, networking, and organizing. User-generated content and conversation are now driving public perception while empowering individuals and consumers. This has created unprecedented business opportunities for individuals (versus corporations). The cost of this 12-hour training is $120.

Back by popular demand, Dawn Stanyon of Professionality Consulting is slated to present "Social Media Hacks" on Wednesday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to noon, offered in collaboration with the Nonprofit Center of the Berkshires. Stanyon will guide participants in developing a social media system for your business that works for you and conveys your brand, that doesn't take up all of your time, and gets people in the door. The cost is $35.

"Facebook for Business: Visibility + People = Profit" led by technology consultant Amy Chin is slated for March 6 and 8 from 3 to 5 p.m. at a cost of $45. Ninety-two percent of people searching social media find local businesses on Facebook. Learn how to set up or improve your Public Fan Page, create events, questionnaires, make promotions and contests, and more. Participants should have basic Facebook knowledge and a current Facebook profile. Chin is also scheduled to offer "Introduction to Social Media" on March 20 and 22 from 3 to 5 p.m. After defining social media and social networking, participants will understand seven popular social networks: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+ and YouTube, learning what they do, the differences and reasons for each and how to integrate them to boost your business or just connect with others on the Internet. The cost is $45.
