Letter: Caccaviello Clear Choice for DA

To the Editor:

Most Berkshire County residents will go their entire lives with only a vague concept of what role the district attorney's office has in the grand scheme of our criminal justice system. As discouraging as that may sound, it also indicates that the average citizen has been fortunate enough to not need the services of the DA's office.

If however, you find yourself the victim of a crime you will become all too familiar with the role the DA has in advocating for your dignity and rights. Who would you want on your side, navigating the legal system on your behalf? Who would you trust to win justice for you and your family? Would you trust someone who has never worked as a prosecutor? Would you trust someone who has very little experience in litigation? Just think about it for a moment.

Or, instead, do you feel your cause would be better served by someone with 28 years as a successful prosecutor, a man who has been named Prosecutor of the Year?

My family and I were the victims of a housebreak, so I know who I would choose, who I will choose in the upcoming election. Paul Caccaviello, in my mind, is the only possible choice for district attorney. Mr. Caccaviello has almost three decades of experience advocating for the safety and security of the residents of Berkshire County. He is a man of integrity, a man with compassion, and an extraordinary lawyer. I wholeheartedly endorse Mr. Caccaviello in his bid for the permanent position of District Attorney and strongly urge you to do the same.
