SHEFFIELD, Mass. — The Epichorus performs two shows at Race Brook Lodge Oct. 8 and 9.

The Epichorus performs contemporary songs based in ancient sounds. Epichorus are lineage holders of traditions from India, Egypt, Greece and Syria. They are led by Priya Darshini, classically trained in Indian raga.
Epichorus are backed by Oud, Violin, Accordion, Hammered Dulcimer, Percussion and Upright Bass.
Friday, Oct. 8: Ethereal sounds from the Middle East and India, Oud, Violin, and Hammered Dulcimer, Percussion and Upright Bass back the stunning grammy nominated vocalist Priya Darshini, who serenades beyond the bounds of language. This evening will highlight songs of mourning and healing.
Saturday, Oct. 9: Birthed from the musical landscape of the pandemic, the Epichorus will highlight sounds created in solitude, with small and unusual combinations of Oud, Violin, Hammered Dulcimer, Voice, Percussion and Upright Bass, before gathering together behind grammy nominated vocalist Priya Darshini, who captivates with rare intimacy and prowess.
