MassDOT Reopening Route 20 Eastbound On-ramp10:50AM / Tuesday, August 30, 2022 | |
LEE, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing it will be reopening the Route 20 eastbound on-ramp to Interstate 90 at exit 10 in Lee on Tuesday, Aug. 30. The on-ramp is scheduled to be reopened during afternoon hours after detour restrictions have been removed. The ramp was closed in May 2022 to allow crews to safely and efficiently conduct bridge deck, joint, and facia repair operations. Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area. Fall Foliage 5K, Berkshire Half Marathon Set for Oct. 8-9Community submission, 10:24AM / Monday, August 29, 2022 | | PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- One finisher of the inaugural Berkshire Half Marathon will win a brand new 2023 Subaru. Harden finished on top of a five-competitor field in the novice men combined division. He posted a score of 39.67 with a one-point decduction after a program that included a triple lutz and a triple salchow with a triple toeloop. Harden, who skates for the Connecticut-based Charter Oak Figure Skating Club, also took home a bronze medal in a 10-skater field in the novice men combined at the Cranberry Open in Norwood, Mass., this month. Sheffield Resident Injured in a Motor Vehicle Accident Staff Reports, iBerkshires 06:14PM / Wednesday, August 17, 2022 | | GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — A Sheffield resident was injured Wednesday afternoon after their vehicle crashed into the Dollar Tree Store in the Barrington Plaza. According to police, the driver struck a sign, a parked vehicle, and then rolled over and crashed into the front of the store in their 2006 Subaru Forester. The driver, who was not identified, was taken to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield by Southern Berkshire EMS. The Fire Department also responded to the accident at approximately 12:52 p.m. The cause of the crash is under investigation by Officer Andres Huertas and Officer Sam Stolzar. This document is a guide for how road infrastructure projects should be designed to alleviate stream flooding and to ensure aquatic wildlife corridors are improved. Du Bois Center for Freedom and Democracy of Great Barrington will present a roundtable discussion on the life and legacy of Elizabeth Freeman, the first enslaved African American to successfully sue for her freedom in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The roundtable will take place Friday, Aug. 19, at 4 p.m. at Dewey Hall. A reception will follow the roundtable.
