CHP Seeks Designer/Contractor for 'Food Depot'

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — With $70,000 in grant funding in hand, Community Health Programs (CHP) has plans for a new 'food depot' to support its food security programs based on Great Barrington.   But CHP's 900-square-foot food distribution building is competing with more costly, larger-scale projects for design and construction talent around Southern Berkshire.   "We have the funds, we have the plan, we have the need, and we sure have a lot of food," said Mary Feuer, director of CHP Family Services and WIC which oversees a range of food programs for CHP patients and the general public.   During the COVID-19 pandemic food insecurity issues grew,

Bidwell House Museum Board President Passes the Baton

MONTEREY, Mass. — After twelve years as President of the Bidwell House Museum Board of Directors, Rob Hoogs, finished his final term on Saturday May 21 and was honored by the Board of Directors for his service.   Hoogs worked with former Director Martha Dailey on a land history and mapping project in 2007 and then joined the Board of Directors in 2008. LENOX, Mass. — Lee High valedictorian Emma Puleri was at a loss for words while writing her commencement speech and consulted her peers. They suggested that she rap her remarks, walk up to the podium and say nothing, and pass the microphone to several other students.

This led Puleri to the conclusion that the class of 2022 is the Looney Tunes.

"Each one of us is different and unique. We all are total goofballs in our own way, yet we still accept each other for who we are as individuals," she said during Saturday's graduation under the Koussevitzky Music Shed at Tanglewood.
