SANDISFIELD, Mass. — The Sandisfield Times is reporting the town's public safety chiefs are out.

According to a special report of the newsletter Tuesday night, Fire Chief Ralph Morrison resigned at Monday's Select Board meeting and his brother, Police Chief Michael Morrison, is expected to be sacked.

The chiefs' leadership have been have been questioned since a fire tanker truck was wrecked in September while being driven to a fire by the police chief.

The fire chief had the tanker towed to his auto garage in Tolland, hampering an investigation, and it became known the truck hadn't been properly inspected in years.

The accident caused the Select Board to begin an investigation and cancel a contract with Ralph Morrison's A&M Auto service for inspections of other town vehicles.

According to the Times, Ralph Morrison had recommended his brother replace him as fire chief but the Select Board declined.
